Okay! Graciebird from Dreaming in Black and White (wonderful blog title, by the way) has "tagged" me for Crazy Eights. I guess it's best for me to do as thou wilt, otherwise the ghost of Aleister Crowley will come to haunt me. (Did I sleep to little last night...?)
Anyways:
1. A weekend in Paris with my beau. (We've agreed on arriving in black- and white striped shirts, red scarves and berets, carrying a baguette and paint on moustasche. How about that?)
2. Money, so we can buy shelves for my precious DVD collection.
3. Next cigarette break.
4. Cruising around in the classic film bloggosphere, searching for interesting updates.
5. Colorizing some more photos of classic film stars.
6. Watching To Be or Not to Be (1942). I have to see it today. I'm so into Carole Lombard right now...
7. Sleep. We have a 160 cm bed now, it fulfills all my needs. I'll never need to work, eat, drink or love again.
8. Buying Michael B. Druxman's "Basil Rathbone: His life and His Films" and Basil Rathbone's "In and Out of Character". They'd look pretty in my book shelf.
8 Things I did yesterday
1. Drank Corona beer on a hill in the middle of town with my beau and his best friend.
2. Watched "Charlie the Unicorn" on YouTube for the hundred and eleventh time. Still makes me hysterical and panic struck.
3. Watched Love Actually (2003) with two men. They were completely taken aback of the manly love between Bill Nighy and his manager.
4. I learned a lot about director and visual effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen of his probably most devoted fan, my friend Chrusjtjov.
5. I talked to my mum on the phone about her disturbing and abusive Finnish cousins, who broke her glasses and hit her when she was young because she couldn't understand their made-up-Swedish. Don't mess with Finnish children from the 1970's!
6. I watched a South Park Halloween special, "Pinky Eye". (God, I was such a man yesterday...)
7. Didn't eat anything but breakfast. (Why should you, when one has beer, wine and cigarettes? In a few years I will look like Charles Bukowski.)
8. Had interesting nightmares about chopping up bodies of rapists and dumping them in a lake. Later, a giant hippopotamus ate it all up. Great way to get rid of evidence.
8 Things I wish I could Do
1. Learn French, Spanish, German and Russian. And Italian. And Japanese.
2. Become the Empress of Russia.
3. Go back in time and marry William Powell or Basil Rathbone. Or both.
4. Become a film historian and host for TCM.
5. Become rich as hell.
6. Fly. And do coin tricks.
7. Reincarnate as Myrna Loy. Give me those looks, that personality and that lovely sense of humour!
8. I also wish I had the power to turn people into snails with the wink of an eye.
8 Shows I Watch
1. Malcolm in the Middle
2. South Park
3. Family Guy
4. How I Met Your Mother
5. Scrubs
6. Sopranos
7. Kenny vs. Spenny
8. House
I tag 8 people now and they are:
1. The Classic Maiden
2. Alexis
3. Elizabeth
4. Keith
5. Samuel Wilson
6. C. K. Dexter Haven
7. Princess Fire and Music
8. Meredith
Au revoir!
Hahaha, I LOVE 5 on "Things I Did Yesterday"!
ReplyDeleteActually, though, a substantial part of me is Finnish...so maybe I shouldn't be laughing...LOL!
And you totally need to dress up to to France!
ReplyDeleteMillie:
ReplyDeleteOh, you are? I'm 25% Finnish, my grandfather fought in the Finnish Winter War 1939-1940.
Hehe, it's fun to laugh about their cruelty so many years afterwards, isn't it? :)
Cool. I did my part on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteWow, your list of 8 things I wish I could do is eerily similar to white mine would be. You want to be Empress of Russia too?!
ReplyDeleteYou stole all the languages I want to learn! And I love the dress up for France idea, though not el mustache so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for my title. I'm thinking maybe I should change it though...
Oh, and I took out To Be or Not To Be yesterday, and now I'm in the mood to watch it now! I may bump it up to number one on my to watch list.
ReplyDelete:o( I wanna go to Paris and fall in LUUUUV(I was there as a little kid in the 60s but luv stuff was out of the question then!)Its a place hard to get to from the middle of TEXas!..reckin' I'll just have to settle for shootin' up a Cantina down in Mexico..Yes wear black and white in Paris!..and do everything else you can think of to annoy those Parasians..:o))
ReplyDeleteI love "Love Actually"!!its one of my top 10 fave movies of recent years!"Lets get pissed and watch porn!"

Christopher:
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm really looking forward to Paris. But I think I'll skip the moustache... But I will make an exception from beig a vegetarian, because I need to have eaten snails in France! If I don't puke.
Haha, I like "Where the fuck is my fucking coat? Oh... hi Prime Minister..."
Yes, it was really fun! But I actually got an email from Mr. Druxman before I saw him turning up on GAOH, he had found his way to my Basil Rathbone posts. That was quite a surprise!
The Parisian caracature is so silly and fun. I think it works. I would love to see the expressions of the French when you got off the train!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree - who needs much more than breakfast when you have beer and wine!
Robby Cress:
ReplyDeleteI'll video tape it! Just for you, haha.
Exactly my point! But, as I said, I won't be as beautiful in five years or so... haha.
1. I'm one-fourth Finnish, too (grandmother). And many years ago, I actually visited Finland (while going to and from Russia).
ReplyDelete2. Go back in time and marry William Powell or Basil Rathbone. Or both. As long as you aren't married to both simultaneously...
3. I also wish I had the power to turn people into snails with the wink of an eye. Remind me never to get on your bad side.
VP81955:
ReplyDeleteOh, nice! We have something in common then ;) Perhaps my grandfather even flirted with your grandmother at some time, he was a real ladies man, looked a bit like a Finnish version of Humphrey Bogart.
Hehe, no, I guess I'd marry Powell first, then grow tired of his gentlemanliness, divorce, then marry Rathbone, grow tired of his Britishness, divorce and then just flirt around with the rest of the good-looking Hollywood.
No, watch out...
I'm currently studying French; German and Russian are next on my list, and after that comes... well, everything. Also, your #4 in that category is pretty much my dream job.
ReplyDeleteOH MAN i would give an arm and a leg to come back as myrna loy. no lie.
ReplyDeleteand i will definitely fill this out. :)
I'll watch for your follow up post ;)
